WHY BIOMETRIXTM SERIES 3000?
Biometrix Series 3000 (S3K) is a fingerprint authentication access control device with embedded network connectivity. The combination of Biometrix state-of-the-art image processing techniques, its proprietary signal enhancer and finger positioning system, AlufingerTM, plus AuthenTec’s fingerprint sensor technology, TruePrintTM provides S3K with extremely fast and accurate results. Biometrix Series 3000’s superb performance and convenient features -such as several digital inputs and outputs, backlit LCD display, alphanumeric membrane keypad, anti-tamper switch, electrical isolation, extra ESD protection and a heavy-duty ABS plastic casing (Flame Retardant UL94-V0)- offer an outstanding solution for access control and time & attendance applications at a very affordable price.
APPLICATION FIELDS
Office entrances, security areas and time and attendance systems are just a few of the applications that Biometrix Series 3000 can efficiently handle. The integrated inputs and outputs give Biometrix Series 3000 the ability to control data to and from a wide scope of digital devices, such as electric door locks, turnstile’s solenoids, lighting systems, motion sensors, push buttons, crystal break detectors, just to mention a few.
CENTRALIZED MANAGEMENT
Though Biometrix Series 3000 has the ability to work in single unit system, multiple devices attached to a network can be controlled by a single PC. This gives the system the ability to manage several hundred devices -which could be installed in different buildings and areas- from a centralized location.
NETWORK CONNECTIVITY
SPECS (Small Peripherals Ethernet Connectivity System) -Biometrix’s patent pending network technology- gives S3Ks the unique ability of communicating through a network (LAN) using very few hardware resources at an outstanding response time.
EASY INTEGRATION
The integration of Biometrix Series 3000 to an existing local area network is as easy as assigning it an IP address through the keypad. From there on, the centralized management software seamlessly takes control of all S3K’s settings and functions.
CONFIDENTIALITY
In Biometrix Series 3000 systems actual images of fingerprints are never saved. Binary templates based on some of the characteristics of enrolled fingerprints are kept in a database for later authentication. Those binary templates can by no means be used to regenerate the original images of the enrolled fingerprints, not even the system used to calculate the template.
IMAGE PROTECTION
Images running through the network have been protected through different concurrent methods, such as random image segmentation, challenge response and tokenized encryption.
FAULT TOLERANCE
Biometrix Series 3000 features include the possible use of a second host PC running as a back-up to automatically take control of the system in case the first host PC unexpectedly shuts down.
WHY AUTHENTECTM SENSORS?
The exceptional speed and reliability of AuthenTec’s Inc. AF-S2 sensors is based on the active antenna array of more than 16,000 elements which looks past the easily obscured outer layer of the skin or epidermis to the living layer below where the unique ridge and valley patterns of the fingerprints originate. The sensor manages to combine the output of the thousands of individual elements to form an accurate, undistorted image of the fingerprint, outperforming any other existing technology (optical, capacitive, thermal, etc.)
The fingerprint detection surface, contained in a chip (CMos IC), is protected by a transparent ceramic coating (Mohs 7+, much harder than glass) to resist every day use, abrasion and wear.
